Tavistock Parish Church is the ideal venue for holding a concert with a seating capacity of approximately 400 people. This year alone it has hosted the Support Nepal Charity concert, free lunchtime piano and organ recitals by local musicians, Tavistock Area Schools Charity concert, Mount Kelly Choral Society concert, numerous Tavistock Festival concerts, Vocal Harem concert, The Elgar Chorale of Worcester concert, Tavistock Rhythm and Brass concert, West Devon Opera concert, Tamar Valley Male Voice Choir concert and an International Celebrity concert.
The cost of hiring the church for an evening concert is normally a non-returnable booking fee of £60 and an additional charge of £1 per adult attending the concert. However, if you wish to hold a charity concert or a free concert, then the Director of Music reserves the right to waive the booking fee and to negotiate a donation to the church, based on the revenue received either from ticket sales or a retiring collection. School services are also encouraged for which no charge for the use of the church will be made, although there might be a fee for the organist or other musicians. Donations from a school service will always be gratefully received.
The cost of hiring the church for a lunchtime concert is a non-returnable booking fee of £30 and additional charge of £1 per adult attending the concert. The same principles, as outlined above, are applied to charity or free concerts.
The Friends of St Eustachius are very willing to provide interval refreshments (wine and soft drinks) and the hirer can select this option on the booking form. You can, however, provide your own interval refreshments if you prefer this option.
Although the hirer accepts responsibility for publicising and promoting the concert, Tavistock Parish Church is very happy to put up posters in the noticeboards around the church, include an advert in the monthly parish magazine and put a notice in the weekly pew-sheets. Tickets can be sold on the door, through Bookstop which is a sponsor of St Eustachius, or via your own website, etc.
If you would like to hire the church for a concert please contact Mandy Betts, the Parish Administrator, either by telephone (01822 616673) or email firstname.lastname@example.org or pop into the parish office any weekday between 9.30 am and 12.30 pm, where she will be more than happy to help you.
