Due to the current Covid 19 restrictions and following the latest guidance from the Church of England, St Eustachius’ church currently opens for Sunday worship at 9.45 am, at which the organ will be played but congregational singing is still not permitted. The church stays open after this service for private prayer in the Clothworkers Aisle and closes at 2 pm.
The Church then reopens on Wednesday for the 10.30 am Midweek Eucharist, staying open again following this for private prayer in the Clothworkers Aisle until 2 pm. Numbers are restricted at services but we hope to accommodate all who are able to come at this time.
Face coverings need to be worn in the church by all attending.
The Sunday and Wednesday Eucharists use the Nave and the main altar, and enough distanced pew seating is available. Arriving members of the congregation are invited to use the hand sanitiser on entry, and provide their name and phone number at the reception desk. A one way system is in operation, clearly marked on the floor. Communion is taken in ‘one kind’ (wafer only) and those taking the wafer are invited to use the provided hand sanitiser on their way up to the altar.
Collection is only taken by means of a ‘retiring plate’ towards the exit, for cash or envelopes. Alternatively, collection can be taken online at this link.
