The online Lenten Reflections will appear here week by week starting from Wednesday February 24th, together with some supporting material.
24th February Week 1 – Temptation
3rd March Week 2 – Submission
As we follow the way of the cross, this week we are reflecting on Mark chapter 8:27-38 ‘Take up your cross and follow me.’ Rosie and Hazel hope you find the reflection helpful.
10th March Week 3 – Testing
This week we are reflecting on the beginning of John chapter 8. A test for Jesus: The religious authorities drag a woman caught in the act of adultery to him to see how he will respond to her.
17th March Week 4 – Rejection
We are now well into our Lenten journey following the Way of the Cross. Last Sunday was Mothering Sunday, so this week we are reflecting on Mary, the mother of Jesus as she observes her son’s ministry and ‘a sword begins to pierce her soul.’
24th March Week 5 – Anguish
We hope you are still finding the reflections on the Way of the Cross helpful. We are now nearing the end of the journey so we are inviting you to watch with us and the disciples as Jesus prays in the Garden of Gethsemane, prior to his arrest.
31st March Week 6 – Surrender
This is our final online Lenten reflection. We hope you have found them helpful. As we are now in Holy Week we reach our journeys end joining Mary the mother of Jesus at the foot of the cross, suffering with Mary as she watches her beloved son die.
If you found last weeks reflection from the Garden of Gethsemane and this one helpful, we are using them again, to aid our reflections on Good Friday at 2pm at St Eustachius. You are very welcome to join us for our Good Friday service.
