Tavistock Parish Church Centre is situated next to the Bedford Hotel and is available for hire, Monday to Sunday, from 9 am to 11 pm. It is a very popular venue for all types of groups which have regular weekly bookings throughout the year. It is also an ideal place to hold a birthday or anniversary party, particularly as it is situated well back from Plymouth Road and is relatively secluded. The Parish Centre is licensed for 100 people.
The fee for hiring the centre is £18.00 an hour plus an additional flat rate fee for the use of the kitchen. The full use of the kitchen (including the cooker) will cost £20.00 while light use of the kitchen to make tea and coffee will cost £5.50.
The Centre has been recently completely refurbished and is suitable for a wide range of events, from fine dining to aerobics.
The centre has eight large tables, one medium and five small tables plus seventy five chairs. There are also five low childrens’ tables and chairs available.
The large kitchen is fully stocked with a water-heater for making drinks, a large gas cooker, a microwave oven, a toaster, a fridge, saucepans, cooking trays, a hostess trolley, trays, dinner and tea plates, bowls, cups and saucers, glasses and cutlery. In fact, everything you could possibly need for a successful and happy event! And you do not even need to do your washing up as there is a large dishwasher and plenty of tea towels.
The lighting in the centre is very good and there is clear wall space to use as a projector screen. A projector and microphone (PA) system are available by request.
There is, unfortunately, no parking at the Parish Centre but vehicles may be brought in for a short time for unloading. However, the Bedford Car Park is only a two minute walk from the centre and only costs £2 for the entire day.
